HOW LONG HAVE WE GOT?

HOW LONG HAVE WE GOT? is a verbatim filmic representation of car-journey-conversations that took place between myself and my family on 16th August 2024. It captures the drive from our home in Stoke-On-Trent, not quite the North, through the Staffordshire Moorlands and eventually over the border into ‘the NORTH’ on our way to the Yorkshire coast for a nostalgic summer holiday. The words spoken during the journey are now artefacts of the time's specificities, how quickly culture becomes history. A random mention of Liam Gallagher takes place 11 days prior to Oasis getting back together. Northern centric cultural references and memories of beloved Northern towns surface, always just about in reach of a life in the Midlands. And finally, that holy moment when you hit the border, break through the barrier and arrive in ‘the NORTH’. That's paradise.
