CATCH SIGHT OF IT (2025)
single channel video
15 minutes

CATCH SIGHT OF IT is a filmic manifesto. Structured around a series of instructions which appear as inter-titles, the piece is made up of performed, moving image responses to each instruction, inviting the viewer to perform their own interpretations inside or outside of the film’s duration. Exploring time through interacting with film apparatus in the piece, Marshall asks you to ‘remember that you are a camera’, deconstructing the conventions of the recorded image and placing importance on the act of looking. Episodic in nature, CATCH SIGHT OF IT aims to heighten the audience’s experience of time passing both within and beyond the film’s duration.
